Pearl M. Schroepfer, age 97 of Sleepy Eye, Minnesota died on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye surrounded by the love of her family. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025, from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm at St. Mary's Catholic Church - North Entrance in Sleepy Eye. Funeral Mass will follow at 12:00 pm and will be livestreamed at https://www.facebook.com/stmarysleepyeye. The clergy will be Fr. Craig Timmerman. Interment will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Pearl Mae (Grindall) Schroepfer, the daughter of Francis and Rose (Sorenson) Grindall, was born on September 15, 1927, near Litchfield, Minnesota in Meeker County. In 1939, she moved with her parents to Sleepy Eye where she graduated from Sleepy Eye Public School in 1945. Pearl attended Minneapolis Business College and graduated in 1946. She worked for a time for Acousticon Hearing Aid Company in Minneapolis as a secretary before moving back to Sleepy Eye. On June 4, 1947, Pearl married the love of her life, Vesty Schroepfer, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. They were blessed with four children and celebrated 68 years of marriage. Pearl began working part time at Berkner Insurance Agency in 1957. She eventually ended up at First National Insurance Agency which later became First Security Agency. Pearl retired in 1992.
Pearl was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Margaret Society, American Legion Auxiliary where she served as president and treasurer, Christian Mothers, and Divine Providence Home Auxiliary where she served as secretary. She enjoyed being a homemaker, reading, crossword puzzles, playing cards, fishing, traveling with her husband, and especially getting together with family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sylvester; parents, Rose Grindall and Francis Grindall; infant granddaughter, Michelle Schroepfer; stepsister, Beverly Simonson; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Pearl is survived by her children, Gary (Bambi) of Tucson, AZ, Jill (Gary) Krause of Rapid City, SD, Russell (Vickie) of Sleepy Eye, and Judy (Allen) Schueler of Sleepy Eye; 7 grandchildren; 1step-grandson; 1 foster grandson; 17 great-grandchildren; 3 step great-grandchildren; 2 foster great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; half-brother, Douglas (Marlys) Grindall of International Falls, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
