Pearl was born on July 21, 1914 in Stark Township, Brown County, MN, the daughter of Nick Lizzie (Upson) Bock. On October 26, 1938 she married Ambrose Hornick at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. After marriage they farmed in Mulligan Township until retiring in 1972. In October of 1972 Pearl started working at the Sleepy Eye Care Center as Head Housekeeper for 12 years. She was a member of the Japanese Martyrs Church and the Christian Mothers in Leavenworth. Pearl K. Hornick, 91 ,of Sleepy Eye, MN died on Monday, July 17, 2006 at Sleepy Eye Care Center in Sleepy Eye, MN. She is survived by her sons, Jerome Hornick of Windom, Roger (Janice) Hornick of Sarasota, Florida, daughters, Joyce (Kenneth) Platz of Comfrey, Lois Hornick of Hopkins, 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, brother, Lloyd (Lena) Bock of Sleepy Eye, sisters, Dorothy Sorensen of Sleepy Eye, Rosella Deterling of Raymond, sisters-in-law, Lucille Sellner and Ruth Hornick, both of Sleepy Eye and Celestine Soupir of Wimbledon, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ambrose in December of 1992, great granddaughter, Amber Rose Platz in November of 1994, brothers, Robert and John Bock and brothers-in-law, Leo Deterling and Harvey Sorensen.
