Pauline Veerkamp

February 19, 1940 — September 1, 2007

Pauline Ann Veerkamp was born February 19, 1940, in Sleepy Eye, MN, the daughter of Arthur and Mary (Tauber) Eckstein. She graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1958, and was united in marriage to Thomas Veerkamp on July 22, 1961, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The couple farmed in the Darfur area, then moved to Bashaw Township. They then moved and farmed in Milaca, MN in 1983, and returned to Bashaw Township in 1990. Pauline then began working for Tony Downs Foods where she worked for 17 years. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Comfrey, the CCW, Catholic Aid Association, taught CCD, and was a Rosary leader. Pauline also was a member of Home Extension, the Prairie Quilters, and was a former 4-H leader. Pauline and Tom enjoyed traveling and their trips to Florida, California, and Hawaii. She enjoyed collecting dolls, making crafts, was an avid reader, and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Pauline Ann Veerkamp died Saturday, September 1, 2007, at Immanuel-St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato at the age of 67 years. Survivors include husband- Thomas of Comfrey; children- Michael and wife Chris of Milaca, Robert of Comfrey, Jeffery and wife Jill of Comfrey, Mary Kay and husband Adam Reichow of Foreston, MN, and Kathleen and husband Mark Reibl of Milaca; grandchildren- Thomas, Zach, Matt, Rachel, Jeremiah, Erin, Adam, Owen, Alyssa, Troy, Kyle, Trent, Nicholas, Jacob, and Katherine; and great-grandchild- Austin. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother- Paul; and a daughter in infancy.
