Paul Wilhelmi

Paul John Wilhelmi was born on March 5, 1923 in New Market, MN, the son of Jerome and Rose (Zweber) Wilhelmi. He grew up and attended school in New Market and later in Morgan. After his schooling Paul worked in farming for a few years. He served in the US Navy as a cook from 1944 to 1946. Paul married Lucille C. Schultz on March 8, 1944 in Milroy, MN. The couple made their home in Sleepy Eye where Paul worked various jobs for a few years and also as a salesman for A. H. Hermel for several years. After retiring he worked for Christianson Farms. He was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, the VFW and the Legion. Paul was a jack of all trades, master of none and enjoyed woodworking and refinishing furniture. He is survived by his children, Betty (Les) Shaw of Austin, Duane (Theresa) Wilhelmi of Sleepy Eye, Sharon Roberts of Klossner and Jeffrey Wilhelmi of Sleepy Eye, 13 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren and sister-in-law, Marcella Wilhelmi of Morgan. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Lucille in 2011, sister, Patsy Ricke, brothers, Francis and Leroy, a sister in infancy, 2 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
