Pat

Patricia “Pat” Marie (Bute) Rupp was born on August 23, 1944, to Laverne and Agnes (Penwell) Bute in Jackson, Minnesota. She was the second of four children, Janet, Pat, Mary, and Mark.

Patricia graduated from Jackson High School. She worked several jobs over the course of her life. She worked at the Highway Café in Jackson, the nursing home in Mountain Lake, Circuit Science in Minneapolis, and the Good Samaritan Society Sogge Memorial in Windom.

In 1968, Patricia married Ed Rupp, which ended in divorce a few years later. Pat welcomed a baby boy, Brian, later in life. She raised him by herself, which created a strong bond between the two. They enjoyed going on vacations together to various places.

Some of Pat’s favorite things were getting together with family, playing cards with friends and shopping, especially with her sister, Mary on black Friday and making a whole weekend out of it.

Pat fought a long, hard battle with cancer. She passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at the age of 78 years.

She is survived by her son, Brian Rupp of Windom; sister, Mary (Paul) Mohns of Jackson; brother, Mark (Gail) Bute of Olivia, many nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceding Pat in death are her parents, Laverne and Agnes and sister, Janet House.
