Patricia Roth

Patricia Patty Lois Roth was born on September 3, 1918 to Louis and Lola (Terry) Wilt in New Ulm, MN. She was baptized, confirmed and married in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lamberton. She graduated from Lamberton High School in 1936 and continued her education at the Minneapolis Business College. For over forty years Patricia was a bookkeeper. She worked in Redwood Falls, Waseca, Melrose, and Los Angeles, CA before returning to Lamberton and starting her 35 year career in Redwood County Farmers Mutual Insurance Company. Patty married Donald William Roth on June 7, 1944 in Lamberton where they made their home. To this union, one daughter, Julie, was born. Patty was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's CCW where she recently held the position for many years of Sunshine Lady, sending get well and sympathy cards to parishioners; a lifelong member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a past Reading Club member. She enjoyed spending time at her cabin at Lake Shetek, the Vikings Twins, her birthday club, Lawrence Welk shows and listening to Big Band music. She loved reading to Melodee and Peyton, spending time with her family and friends, and was anxiously awaiting the arrival of baby Scheffler. In May of 2002, Patricia became a resident of Valley View Manor where she died on August 15, 2006, at the age of 87 years. She enjoyed reading books, word search puzzles, crafts, and the fun outings with the staff and other residents during those years. Patricia Roth, age 87 of Lamberton, died Tuesday, August 15, 2006, at Valley View Manor in Lamberton. She is survived by her daughter - Julie and husband Dennis Erickson of Lamberton; two granddaughters - Amy (Kory) Grant of Marshall and Emily (Kurt) Scheffler of Lamberton; two great grandchildren - Melodee and Peyton Grant. She is preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother; and her husband Don.
