Patricia Marlene Rodgers

January 18, 1931 — June 24, 2022

Patricia Marlene Wagner Rodgers, 91 of Butterfield, MN passed away peacefully with family by her side on Friday June 24, 2022. Patt is a true lady, who loved LIFE. Patt was born January 18, 1931, in Johnstown, PA, the oldest of four children born to Donald L. and Kathleen M. Wagner, beloved granddaughter of Willard and Nelle Burkhart. She met Jesus face-to-face at the age of 13, a moment that changed her life forever. She graduated from Johnstown High School in 1948 and met Thomas E. Rodgers at the tender age of 16. Patt and Tom married and had three lovely daughters, Diane, Patricia, and Cynthia which brought great delight and adventure to their lives. Faith and knowledge of her Lord and Savior permeated every part of her life. Patt and husband Tom served as certified lay ministers in the United Methodist Church teaching, preaching, and tending their congregants in their homes. They also lived in England, Venezuela as well as Washington State, New York, and Pennsylvania. Patt in addition to tending the home, raising the children, and entertaining dignitaries also worked at the Law office Rodgers and Cullis in Greensburg, PA for many years as the office manager and accountant. Her love for others took her into the field of personal caregiving; the Director of Highway Safety Programs for Westmoreland County (utilizing her grandchildren at fairs to wear the crash test dummy costumes) as well as an assistant social worker in the Children's Bureau. In addition to her "day jobs" there was always a personal side business featuring her creativity or culinary skills, as an entrepreneur, her products in high demand. She loved to foster dogs that were unadoptable because they needed to learn how to be in a family. Every dog she welcomed into her home became a wonderful family pet. In everything she did her love for God people and animals and desire to care for their wellbeing was at the forefront. Nature spoke to her of our Creator, and it was here she spent time communing with God, often with her dogs by her side and the resident wildlife accustomed to sharing their space with her. In her later years she was able to join the Wooster, OH community before moving to Butterfield, MN loving her family and making new friends in both places, continuing to love others always. She is survived by three daughters, Diane L. Rabe of Butterfield, MN; Patricia A. Rodgers (David Cullis) of Wooster, OH and Cynthia L. Reed of Kill Devil Hills, NC. She is also blessed by her 4 grandchildren Jamie (Cary) Quiring of Butterfield, MN; Joshua (Jessica) Rabe of Slidell, LA, Chelsea and Cassidy Reed of Kill Devil Hills, NC and 5 great- grandchildren Sara and Mark Quiring, Liz Hemmingson, Lexi, and Logan Rabe. She is also survived by siblings Bob and Mickie Wagner; Richard and Jen Wagner and Rev. Donna and John Hess, God-daughter Sally Facciani Plotkin as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins all of whom she loved.
