Patricia 'Patty' Rosenhammer, 62, of Sleepy Eye, died August 4, 2026, at her home surrounded by family following a brave battle with cancer.
Patty grew up on a crop and livestock farm in rural Milroy as the oldest of 10 children. She attended nursing school in Worthington after graduating from Milroy High School. Patty worked at Divine Providence Community Home for the past 33 years, and she truly enjoyed caring for others.
She was a finalist for Princess Kay of the Milky Way in 1985, and that led to meeting her husband, John. They married on September 2, 1988. Together they raised their five children on the family dairy farm south of Sleepy Eye. She passed on many skills to her children through numerous 4-H projects. Her children loved that they could talk about anything with mom and her grandchildren loved her reading to them. Her kids always looked forward to her cooking & baking, especially her chocolate chip cookies and Special K bars.
Patty was a woman of faith, simplicity, and hard work. She enjoyed reading, cooking, baking, gardening, canning, and sewing. Patty enjoyed going to greenhouses and carefully picking out her flowers in the spring, and watering them each evening all summer. What she loved the most was spending time with family, especially her grandkids, who brought her immeasurable joy. Patty was a big supporter of 4-H and enjoyed attending county fairs to check out the 4-H exhibits. She was an active volunteer for her church, serving on the festival committee for many years. She was always willing to help out and enjoyed running errands for her husband & kids. She helped out on the farm with anything from field lunches during harvest to milking cows. Despite her cruel cancer diagnosis, she did not complain. Patty's selflessness went beyond work and home, she took care of countless neighbors and friends who were going through their own trials. She enjoyed the simple things like home cooked meals, sitting on the porch, gator rides around the farm, and going on road trips after chores with John that always ended at DQ.
Her beautiful smile and selfless heart will be missed by many. Patty is survived by her husband, John Rosenhammer; children, Joe (Katie) Rosenhammer, Laura (Chris) Scholtz, Mary (Kyle) Fischer, Becca (Chad) U'Ren, and John A Rosenhammer; grandchildren, Preston Boomgarten, Emmett Platz, Henry, Ruppert, & Archie Rosenhammer, Morgan & Mya Scholtz, Ava, Gracin, & Jeb Fischer, and Clara U'Ren; her mother, Marge Zeug; siblings, Kevin Zeug, Greg (Marcine) Zeug, Kate (Todd) Palmer, Mike (Jenny) Zeug, Diane (Darren) Storkamp, Al (Amanda) Zeug, Jim (Rachel) Zeug, and Teresa (Michael) Zeug; in-laws, Marcia (Dan) Schindler and Greg (Cali) Rosenhammer along with many nieces and nephews.
Patty was preceded in death by her father, Bob Zeug; brother, John Zeug; and in-laws, Dennis & Mildred Rosenhammer.
