Patricia Marie was born on July 22, 1932, in St. Paul MN to Aloysius and Elizabeth (Roiger) Jenniges. She was the oldest of nine children. She graduated from Lamberton High School. She married Marvin Beranek on September 6,1951.

Patricia enjoyed gardening, playing cards, singing, and working on crossword puzzles. She canned each year and was known for her outstanding garlic dill pickles. Patricia was a lifelong member of St. Mathias Catholic Church and its church choir.

She was a member of many church related organizations and at one time or another she held various officer positions in Christian Mothers, Foresters, and parish council.

Patricia’s strong Christian faith was the foundation of her life. Her strong love and caring heart were felt by everyone.

Patricia is survived by her children, David Beranek (Carol), Michael Beranek (Krista Daniels, Deceased), Joann Beranek, and Colleen Anderson (Jim Toninato); grandchildren, Alan Beranek (Letta) and Christopher Beranek, Chance and Shane Beranek, Brandon Anderson (Jordyn Olson), Blake Anderson, and Aleta Anderson; great-grandchildren, Hunter Beranek, Rayne Beranek, and Weston Anderson; siblings, Elizabeth Hirsch, Jane Jenniges (Pat), Carol Atkins, Marilyn (Thomas) Eykyn, Martha Quesenberry, and John Jenniges (Chris); and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Aloysius and Elizabeth Jenniges; husband, Marvin Beranek; brothers, Gerard and James Jenniges, and Donald Noon; brothers-in-law, Alvin Hirsch, Richard Atkins, and Stephen Quesenberry; and sister-in-law, Marge Jenniges.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Wanda Catholic Heritage Foundation or St. Anne’s School in memory of Patricia.

Reflections from Patricia's Grandchildren...

Throughout her life, Patricia Beranek had a gleeful soul and would make sure to share her love and affection to all. Whether it be family or friends, all were welcome to visit and stay at her home, and she would take every opportunity to make sure no one left feeling hungry. Visits to grandmother’s would ensure you left 5 pounds heavier.

Pat loved having a full house: all the beds were routinely filled on holidays or during summer vacations. When it came time to return home, she would always ask for the next time you would visit while giving you a hug so warm you would feel bad for leaving. She would always smile and wave energetically out the large kitchen window as you left the farmyard.

Pat was always successful at filling seats around a table, whether that be through her well-known love of playing cards or her fantastic cooking. Her family and friends no doubt have many memories of card games with Pat or enjoying any number of her signature dishes.

Patricia would spend her free time filling out crossword puzzles and playing cards to her heart’s content. One could not simply sit or stand idly by the table without her speaking up about how a good card game should be taking place. Later in life, Patricia, when playing with her kids, grandchildren, or sisters, would always say she didn’t know how to play a card game, only for her to win the most rounds regardless of how new or old the game was for her.
