Oscar Bernard Olson

Oscar Olson passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2018 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, MN. Oscar Bernard Olson was born July 28, 1934, in St. James, MN, the son of Oscar and Ida (Appel) Olson. He received his education in the St. James Public Schools and furthered his education at Mankato Vo-Tech. He was united in marriage to Patricia Theissen on December 29, 1954 in St. James. Oscar farmed East of St. James with the exception of two years of military service. Farming was a great love of his, as was his family. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed reading, drawing and painting. Oscar is survived by his wife Pat, 3 daughters and their families; Kathryn (Steve) Quiring and their son Adam (Mariah) of Chaska, Rebecca (Daniel) Quittem and their children, Mindy and Joshua (Tori) of Mankato, Elizabeth Olson and Mark Weber and their daughter Brynn of Chilton, WI, son Michael Olson and his children Samantha and Geddy of St. James and honorary son Bob (Penny) Gnekow of Lafayette. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters June (Ernst) Birkholz, Connie (Don) Wilcox and Elaine (Magnus) Egge.
