Orvie August Kircher

Orvie Kircher, age 89, of Sanborn, MN peacefully passed away on Tuesday morning, December 21, 2016, at Garnette Gardens in Redwood Falls, MN. Orvie was born on August 6, 1927 to Ernest and Gertie Kircher in Lamberton, MN. He was united in marriage to Eulalie Fox on September 11, 1954; this union was blessed with four children. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Orvie entered the Army where he served from October 1945 to July 1946. He was then discharged and he returned to the Lamberton area where he took care of his mother due to the untimely death of his father. Then he was called up to serve his country once again from February 1952 to February 1954. Orvie has been an active member of the American Legion Post 0286 in Sanborn. When he returned, he and Eulalie began a wonderful life raising their children and building their future. Orvie loved his grandchildren and all were called Sam. He loved to tease and rile them up. Orvie worked at the Fox Milling Company and once it was renamed the Sanborn Farmer's Elevator Mill he managed it. His employment was for 35 years where old to young loved listening to Orvie's colorful stories. Wherever he was, Orvie would not hesitate to strike up a conversation with someone he never even knew. Orvie loved meeting people where ever he was and will always be remembered as a kind, gentle, fun loving man. Outside the house, you could always find Eulalie and Orvie maintaining their huge gardens. On a beautiful summer day you could find Orvie taking care of his even larger lawn. In his prime many considered it a plush carpet. When visited by nephew Dick and wife Jackie, all roads led to his favorite place, the casino and his favorite game of Deuces are Wild. Orvie will be lovingly remembered and survived by his son, Doug (Jody) Kircher of Sanborn; daughter, Cathy (Virgil) Felt of Redwood Falls; daughter Lori (David) Miller of Sanborn; son Brad (Julie) Kircher of Sanborn; Grandchildren; Amber, Dustin, Andrea, Michael, Samantha, Megan, Alex, Alison, Zachary. Great grandchildren; Elsa, Aubree, Easton, Ava, Baylor, Blaikely, Ellis and many nieces and nephew. Orvie is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Eulalie, grandson Christopher Miller, sister Arlene Chambers and brother Elroy Kircher.
