Oren Finstad

Oren Finstad, age 95, of Grand Rapids, MN, died at Grand Itasca Hospital in Grand Rapids on Saturday, September 26, 2009. Oren Newell Finstad was born April 20, 1914 on the family homestead near Comfrey to parents John and Ingaborg (Enden) Finstad. He was the youngest of ten children all of which preceded him in death. Oren was united in marriage to Mae LaVonne Metteer on November 22, 1939. Oren farmed the family homestead in Mulligan Township until he retired and they moved to Grand Rapids, MN. He enjoyed playing in the Second Wind Harmonica Band. Oren was the drummer, while Mae played the harmonica. He is survived by his wife of 69 years Mae Finstad of Grand Rapids, three children Ronald (Caroline) Finstad, of Clearwater, FL, Maxine (Alfred) Muller of Superior, MT, LaDonna (Jerry) Ericksen of Comfrey, grandchildren, Ava Muller, Theron Finstad, Gina Tank, Tory Finstad, Lance Muller, Jason Ericksen, and thirteen great-grandchildren.
