Oneeta P. Olson

Oneeta Pauline Olson, 95, passed away on Sunday, November 9th at Chaska Heights Senior Living.

Visitation will be on Sunday, November 16th, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the United Methodist Church in Lamberton, MN. Funeral Service will be held at the United Methodist Church Sunday at 2:00 PM. Interment will be at the Lamberton City Cemetery.

Oneeta was born on February 6, 1930, in Drumright, Oklahoma to Gordon and Pearl Irvin. Because of her father’s occupation, she attended 11 different schools in 12 years. Due to that experience, friendships and stability were very important to her. She graduated from Seneca, Missouri High School in 1948, and completed nursing training in Springfield, Missouri. Her nursing career included hospitals in Springfield & Joplin, Missouri and Springfield, Minnesota. She was the school nurse in Lamberton and a nurse at the Lamberton Clinic. She ended her nursing career as the Director of Nursing at Valley View Manor in Lamberton.

Oneeta was united in marriage to Richard Olson on August 25,1952. After Richard’s service in the Air Force, they moved to Lamberton and were welcomed by Richard’s aunt and uncle, Alyce and Clarence Griese. Oneeta lived in Lamberton for over 60 years and moved to Chaska, Minnesota in 2017. Richard preceded Oneeta in death in March, 2001.

Oneeta was an active member of Germantown United Methodist Church and Lamberton United Methodist Church.

Her family will cherish so many wonderful memories. She loved our weeks at the lake, Christmas with everyone home, and watching her grandchildren’s sporting events. Her homemade buns, cinnamon rolls, cheese cookies, puffed caramel corn, and the best stuffing in the world were always a treat. There were many sticky and cheesy decks of cards during late night games with the grandchildren.

Oneeta is survived by four children - Linda (Mark) Anderson, Janine (Jerry) Aaland, Denise (Jim) Connor, Randy (Kendra) Olson. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren – Nathan Anderson, Michael (Courtney) Anderson, Taylor (Kaylie) Aaland, Emily (Spencer) Freudenthal, Jordan (Kali) Connor, Nick & Josh Connor, and Kaitlin (Ellwood) Ellenson, Katie Baumgartner (fiancée Anna Flohr), Heidi Baumgartner (significant other Corey Wilson), Grace and Emma Olson; and 18 great-grandchildren - Neil, Logan, Charlee, Crew, Brier, Baker, Ryett, Dagny, Signy, Reese, Banks, Remi, Elyse, Ian, Jesse, Jeremiah, Levi, and Lindsi, with the 19th due in January; and one brother, Gaylon Irvin.

Oneeta was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, her parents, grandson Riley Olson, and brothers William, Victor and Douglas Irvin.
