Olive Roadfeldt

October 15, 1921 — September 1, 2006

Olive Virginia Roadfeldt was born October 15, 1921, in Chippewa Falls, WI, the daughter of Fredrick and Doris (Dodge) Sawvell. She attended Stillson country school and helped her mother selling and dressing many, many chickens. Olive was united in marriage to Elmer Roadfeldt on April 12, 1941, in Chippewa Falls. In 1945, the couple purchased a hardware store in Clements. They moved to Lucan in 1952, and then to Lamberton in 1963. Olive was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, the Lamberton Reading Club, and the Country Brushes Painting Club. She enjoyed square-dancing, traveling, and her 22 years wintering in Harlingen, TX. Olive was a gifted seamstress and an excellent homemaker. Olive Virginia Roadfeldt died Friday, September 1, 2006, at Valley View Manor in Lamberton at the age of 84 years. Survivors include daughters- Pamela and Daniel Wilkens of Fertile, MN, and Judith and Denis Dolan of Cedar Falls, IA; son- Richard and Ronda Roadfeldt of Queen Creek, AZ; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; brother- Ronald and Lorraine Sawvell of Clements; and extended family- Cathy and Jason Kedl and family of Lamberton, Robin and Eldon Pape and family of Sanborn, and Eddie and Donna Yackel and family of Darcut, Mass. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband- Elmer in June of 2006.
