Olive Cecelia Hoffman was born on May 27, 1920 in Albin Township, Brown County, the daughter of Oliver and Olga (Christenson) Odegard. She attended country School District #47. Olive married Willie F. Hoffman on March 24, 1946 at Albion Lutheran Church in rural St. James. Olive and Willie farmed in Brown County and Watonwan County before moving to Madelia in 1969. She enjoyed fishing, playing cards, singing in the church choir and duets with Willie for funeral services, visiting, gardening, crocheting and embroidery. Olive was a member of Albion Lutheran Church. She moved to St. John Lutheran Home in 1999 where she enjoyed many activities. Olive died on Monday, September 29, 2008 at St. John Lutheran Home at the age 88 years. She is survived by her daughter-in-law - Nancy Brudelie of Orefield, PA; grandson - Jay (Anne) Brudelie of Orefield, PA; a granddaughter - Jana (Jerry) Brown of Orefield, PA; great grandchildren - Jared Brown and Sabrina Martin; step daughters-in-law - Jane Hoffman of LaSalle and Joan Hoffman of Springfield; a step son-in-law - Floyd Larson of Hanska; 11 step grandchildren and many step great grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters-in-law - Elizabeth Odegard and Gladys Odegard Reeves; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband - Willie Hoffman; son - Dennis Brudelie; step children - Luella Larson, Dale Hoffman, and Clayton Hoffman; sisters - Evelyn (Hilmer) Brekke; and brothers - Myron Odegard and Orrie Odegard.
