Norman Foy

January 30, 1916 — April 23, 2005

Norman was born on January 30, 1916 at St. Mary's Hospital in Minneapolis. He moved with his family to a farm near Wanda and attended County School Dist. #81. Norman entered the Army in 1941 and served with the 1st Armored Division in WW II were he received 2 Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. He was honorable discharged in 1945. He returned to farm near Wanda were he drove truck, worked construction, and retired in the fall of 1977 from the Redwood Falls Elevator. He married Esther Simpson on Aug. 21, 1981 in Sanborn. He was a member of the Sanborn American Legion, Redwood Falls VFW, and the United Methodist Church in Sanborn. Norman served at Trustee at the United Methodist Church and Head Usher for several years. His first love was always farming. Norman died on Saturday, April 23, 2005 at the Sun Wood Care Center in Redwood Falls, MN at the age of 89 years. He is survived by his wife - Esther Foy of Sanborn; children - Don and wife Ann Foy of Clarkfield, MN, Jamie and husband Dale Welters of Bloomington, MN, Doug Foy of Waunakee, WI, Dennis and wife Elaine Foy of Nampa, ID, Patrick and wife Tami Foy of Windom, MN, Michael and wife Susan Foy of Nampa, ID, and Darin and wife Natasha Foy of Nampa, ID; 20 grandchildren; a brother - Rey and wife Dev Laus of White Bear Lake, MN; in-laws - Helen Kaseforth of Springfield, MN, Glenn and wife Arlene Dammann of Sanborn, MN, Don and wife Delores Hogan of Sanborn, MN, and Mary and husband Gary Raitz of Brooklyn Park, MN. He is preceded in death by his parents; 7 sisters; and 6 brothers.
