Norman Martin Batzlaff

October 12, 1932 — August 6, 2015

Norman Martin Batzlaff was born in Lamberton, MN on October 12, 1932, the son of Conrad and Ada (Ohlemann) Batzlaff. Norman went to Lamberton Elementary School and Sanborn Parochial School before graduating from Lamberton High School in 1951. He farmed with his parents after graduation. He met Lois Menken at the Windom Carnival in June of 1952. They began dating and a short time later were engaged. After Norman's return from his service in Korea, the couple married in January of 1956. After their marriage, Norman continued to farm the family farm outside of Lamberton. They were blessed with 9 children. His passion was farming and he was an expert at mechanical invention. No mechanical challenge was left undone. Norman is survived by his wife, Lois (Menken) Batzlaff; and 9 children- Sharon Hernandez (Jorge Gonzalez) of Owatonna, MN, Brian (Diana) Batzlaff of Belgrade, MN, Bruce (Dawn) Batzlaff of Alexandria, MN, Doug (Sara) Batzlaff of Rochester, MN, Kathy Carsten (Craig) of Oak Harbor, WA, Gail Medhin (Solomon) of Kent, WA, Lisa Batzlaff (Mike Stewart) of Willmar, MN, Brenda Batzlaff of Apple Valley, MN, and Julie Piasecki (Tom) of Brooklyn Park, MN; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law Bob Rogotzke of Fairfax, MN. He was preceded in death by both parents; and his two sisters. Visitation 1 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm Monday, August 10, 2015 Sturm Funeral Home, Lamberton Chapel 502 S.
