Norma Mildred Wall was born September 2, 1928, in Bashaw Township, Brown County, Minnesota the daughter of William and Bertha (Krueger) Gentz. She was united in marriage to Everett Wall on May 4, 1948, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Springfield. The couple farmed north of Comfrey from 1956 until 1986 and moved to Springfield in 1994. Norma enjoyed making quilts for the Ronald McDonald House and Hope Lodge in Rochester, and quilts and lap robes for veterans. She was a former member of Salem Lutheran Church in Comfrey and a current member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was a faithful and active member in each. Norma was a longtime member of the Legion Auxiliary in Comfrey, St. John Lutheran Home Auxiliary, and a volunteer at St. John Lutheran Home. She was also a member of the Springfield Senior Citizens, TRIAD, and card groups. Norma enjoyed raising flowers, gardening, and delivering meals-on-wheels. Norma Wall died Wednesday, August 3, 2011, at the Springfield Medical Center Hospital at the age of 82 years. She is survived by sons- Donald and wife Rosanne Wall of Springfield, Roger and wife Kathy Wall of Clements, and Vincent and wife Kathy Wall of Champlin; daughter Janice and husband Allen Firl of Rochester; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers- Victor Gentz of Springfield, and William (Kayla) Gentz of Sleepy Eye; sister Betty Fennern of Wanda; and sister-in-law Gloria (Fred) Teufel of New Ulm. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Everett in 1997; brothers- Arthur, Wilbert, and Walter Gentz; and sisters- Esther Sabinski, Lydia Krause, and Elda Steckman.
