Norma Elizabeth Loewen was born on February 22, 1955 in Mountain Lake, MN to John N. and Bertha G. (Quiring) Loewen. She was dedicated to the Lord at First Mennonite Church in Mountain Lake, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior in 1962, and on March 15, 1970 Norma was baptized upon confession of her Faith. She received her education at the Christian Day School and the Mountain Lake Public School, graduating in 1973. She continued her education at Mankato Vo-Tech, where she earned a degree in Culinary Arts, and on May 20, 1977 she graduated from North Central Bible College. Norma worked at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato, home for Creative Living in Windom, Buttterfield-Odin School and the Mountain Lake Christian School. She was most recently a volunteer at Ten Thousand Villages/Care and Share in Mountain Lake, where she was named volunteer of the month for January 2009. She was an active member of the Assembly of God Church in Mountain Lake. Norma's Faith and Church were very important to her, and she cleaned the church building weekly. She enjoyed doing things with her family and friends, and her many hobbies included Sudoku, caring for her plants, puzzles, sewing, crafts and rubber stamping. She loved her dogs she had over the past years - Skippy, Jiffy, max and fuzzy. Norma passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, March 12, 2009. Norma was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Melroy. She is survived by two brothers, Harold Loewen and his wife Doretta and Richard Loewen and his wife Norma Jean, all of Butterfield, MN; two nieces'; three nephews; eleven great nieces nephews; a great great nephew; aunts; uncles; many other relatives and friends.
