Norma Beyer

Norma Rae Callahan-Beyer was born January 3, 1928, in Freeborn Township, MN to Thomas and Hulda (Knaack) Callahan. She attended country school District #63 and later graduated from Freeborn High School in 1946. Norma was united in marriage to Harold Beyer on December 11, 1947. The couple moved to a farm near New Richland where they raised their family. She was a member of New Hope Lutheran Church in Comfrey and was very active in various church activities. Norma enjoyed playing cards, old time dances, traveling, and gardening. Norma Beyer died Tuesday, August 12, 2014, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield at the age of 86 years. She is survived by her husband Harold of Springfield; children- Donald and wife Susan Beyer of Keller, TX, Leann Henry of Big Lake, Marlene and husband Sheldon Schuelke of Comfrey, and Donna and husband Quint Streich of Statesville, NC; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister Velma Brandt; and sisters-in-law- Arlean Rollenhagen and Delores Callahan. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers- Bill and Bob Callahan; sisters- Betty Lindsey and Dorothy Brandt; and son-in-law Jim Henry.
