Neva Lorena Simning

Neva Simning, 68, of Springfield, died on March 31, 2026, at Sleepy Eye Rehab Center.

Memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield with visitation from 1:00p.m. to 3:00p.m. Interment will take place at Springfield City Cemetery at a later date. Neva Lorena Hanson was born on February 19, 1958, the daughter of Norman and Fay (Klucas) Hanson. She attended and graduated from Morton High School in 1976. Neva met Lenny Simning by asking for a dance partner at a Watermelon Day celebration and the two were married on August 27, 1983, at St. John Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls. Neva loved taking trips up north to Duluth and Ely, attending the State Fair and the Renaissance Festival. She also enjoyed spending time in her flower gardens and reading magazines. Neva adored her cats.

She is survived by her husband Lenny; son Josh; daughter Katie (Fletcher) Christenson; 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and her siblings - Bonnie Haas of Clara City, Leland (Connie) of Glencoe, Nadine (Jerry) Landin of Lake Lillian and Selma Hanson of Hector. Neva was preceded in death by her parents, son Erik, brother Duane and brothers-in-law Kenny, Ron and Gerold.
