Nettie Clara Johnson, age 95, of St. James, Minnesota, died on November 2, 2025 at Pleasantview - Good Samaritan Society in St. James.
Funeral Services will be held at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church - St. James on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 11:00 AM, with visitation at the church one prior to the service.
Interment will be at the Mount Hope Cemetery in St. James.

Nettie Clara Johnson was born June 26, 1930, to George and Clara (Steffen) Foster in Minneapolis, MN. Her adopted father was Joseph Schardt. Nettie was baptized on October 30, 1930 and confirmed on April 2, 1944 at St. Pauls Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm. She went to parochial and public schools in New Ulm. She graduated from high school in 1948 and later worked for Nieno Studios until she married in 1950.
On September 17, 1950, she was united in marriage to Ellwood Johnson at St. Pauls Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm. Following their marriage, they farmed near St. James for many years. They moved to town in St. James in 2000.
Nettie was a member of St. Pauls Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. James. She was a member of Evening Guild and Afternoon Ladies Aid. Nettie also belonged to Club 21, extension club, Red Hats, and the same card club for 50 years. Nettie and Ellwood enjoyed spending time with their family and friends together. In Nettie's free time, she enjoyed reading, ceramics, crafts, flower gardening and traveling.
Nettie is survived by her sons, Steven (Connie) Johnson, Scott (Sue) Johnson, Randy Johnson; grandchildren, Nicole (Ryan) Bauernshmidt, Travis (Chelsea) Johnson, Brent (Lauren) Johnson, Kyle (Stephanie) Johnson, Shawna (Tim) Boomgarden, Shane Johnson, Darci (Rhys) Tiedeken, Ashly Wright, and 20 great-grandchildren. Nettie was preceded in death by her husband, Ellwood Johnson; parents, Joseph & Clara Schardt, and grandson-in-law, Darren Wright.
