Neoma Schmid

Neoma M. Schmid was born on April 3, 1919 in Milford Township, Brown County, MN to Herbert and Martha (Clasen) Wegner. She married Ethelbert Schmid on November 21, 1942 in Mankato, MN. They farmed in Home Township until retiring and moving into Sleepy Eye in 1982. Neoma enjoyed quilting, flower gardening, crocheting and embroidering. She was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye and was active in the Ladies Aid. She is survived by her daughters, Eunice (Charles) Utterback of Fayetterville, NC, Linda (Lenny) Halbur of Desert Hills, AZ and Janelle (Bruce) Guggisberg of Hector, MN, sons, Glen (Carol) Schmid of New Ulm, MN and Jeff (JoAnna) Schmid of Sleepy Eye, sister-in-law, Nita Schmid of New Ulm, MN, 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ethelbert, brother, Roland Wegner and sister and brother-in-law, Marvel and Ralph Boesch.
