Neal Balfany

Neal Anthony Balfany was born February 24, 1940 in Waterbury Township, Redwood County, the son of Tony and Alvina (Seedfeldt) Balfany. He was baptized in Verona, North Dakota on September 30, 1940 and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Lamberton on April 11, 1954. He attended school at Lamberton Public School. Neal was united in marriage to Marjorie Disque on March 3, 1962 at Grace Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye. The couple lived on the family farm in Waterbury Township where they farmed. Neal enjoyed his cattle, fixing things, helping people whenever needed, and spending time with his grandchildren. Neal died on December 12, 2005, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN. He is survived by his wife - Marjorie of Lamberton; daughters - Toni and husband Trevor Harris of Honey Brook, PA, Tamra Sorensen of Milroy, MN, and Brenda and husband James Lehmann of Ormsby, MN; 4 grandchildren - Cody Sorensen, Benjamin Brandolph, Sarah Harris and Justin Lehmann; sisters - Arlene Derickson of Windom, MN, Olive Nerem of Savage, MN, Ellen Wardenburg of Iowa City, IA, and Reva Waldner of Willmar, MN; brother - in - law - Mike Waldner and a mother - in - law - Velma Disque of Waseca, MN. He is preceded in death by a brother - Roy; sisters - Leota Foss, Odena Weilage, and Ivadel Wood; brothers - in - law - Oscar Foss, Charles Weilage, Clifford Wood, and Richard Wardenburg.
