Myrtle Wolter

July 30, 1912 — October 2, 2009

Myrtle Emma Wolter was born on July 30, 1912 at her parent's farm near Sanborn, MN, the daughter of Edward and Henrietta (Pape) Leopold. She attended parochial school in Sanborn. On May 9, 1935 she was united in marriage to Emil Wolter at Zion Lutheran Church in Sanborn. The couple farmed near Jeffers and in 1960 they moved to Olivia. Following the death of Myrtle's husband in 1971, she returned to Sanborn and lived there until she entered Valley View Manor in April of 1998. Myrtle was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Sanborn and enjoyed quilting, crocheting, crafts, gardening and flowers. She is survived by her son - Dennis and his wife - Tomiko Wolter of Vancouver, WA; 2 grandchildren - Steven Wolter of Jamestown, NC and Susan Stoddard of Trabuco Canyon, CA; 5 great grandchildren; and sisters - Margaret Fox of Sanborn, Jeanette Fox of Sanborn, and Shirley Thram of Lamberton. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband - Emil in 1971; and brothers - Orlin, Alvin, and Loren.
