Mary (Ahern) "Myrtle" Warner was born on March 19, 1930 in Fieldan Township, MN to John and Lillian (Duffy) Ahern. She attended St. Mary's Catholic school in Madelia and graduated from Madelia High School, class of 1949. She worked many years at the turkey plant and Tony Downs Foods. On July 5, 1960, Myrtle was united in marriage to Harold Warner and to this union, there were two children: Therese Domeier of New Ulm and Harold Warner, Jr. of St. James, along with 5 grandsons: Jamie, Brandon and Eric Miller, and Mike and Jay Warner. Myrtle did volunteer work for many years at the 3 Madelia schools; a pianist for the Luther Memorial Home (now Living Meadows) for 27 years; was the sacristan at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Madelia for 44 years and served on the board for the Madelia High School Alumni Association for many years. On July 23, 1989, she received the Bishops Medal for her church work and was also nominated for the Oscar Sorbel award. Myrtle participated in the St. Mary's Church Choir and Community Choir for many years. Her hobbies were music, playing piano, reading, flowers and sewing. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Myrtle Warner age 91, of Madelia, MN died on February 10, 2022 at her daughter's home in New Ulm, Minnesota. Myrtle is survived by her daughter, Therese (Tim) Domeier of New Ulm; son, Harold Warner, Jr. of St James; grandsons, Jamie, Eric, Mike and Jay; great-grandchildren, Kaden, Audrey, Ainsley, Anya, Chloe, Kyla, Ryder, Cora, Jaxon, Bode, Kenna, Axl and Nora; sister, Marion (Curt) Hanson; sister-in-law, Blodwen Margaret Nonnemacher, along with many nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Lillian Ahern; husband, Harold Warner; brothers, Francis, John Claire, Lawrence, Albert Ahern and grandson, Brandon Miller.
