Myrtle M. Grunenwald was born on April 20, 1911 in Dale Township, Cottonwood County, MN the daughter of Albert and Anna (Pelz) Grunenwald. She grew up and attended country school in Dale Township. She married Christian Voshage on May 21, 1934 in Dale Township, Cottonwood County. The couple made their home on a farm south of Mountain Lake until 1991. Myrtle moved to the Eventide Home in 2005, and the Good Samaritan Village in 2006. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in MountainLake, MN. Myrtle enjoyed Christmas, crocheting, solitaire, baking pies and gardening. She truly enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed making quilts for Lutheran World Relief with the ladies of Trinity Lutheran Church. Survivors include, one daughter, Betty Voshage, Austin, TX, one son, Gene Voshage (Danette), Colorado Springs, CO, daughter-in-law, Wendy Voshage of Mountain Lake, two grandsons - Jason Voshage (Jennifer Hayes) of Monument, CO and Justin Voshage of Mountain Lake, MN, one granddaughter, Jada (Brigham) Hampel of Mountain Lake, MN and ten great grandchildren. Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Christian Albert Voshage, one grandson, Thadeus Voshage, two brothers, Paul and Herman Grunenwald, three sisters, Mabel Voshage, Anna Messenbrink and Gladys Schmidt.
