Murlaine Weiss

Murlaine Joan Yakey was born November 10, 1925 at Benson, MN to parents Ozro and Manda (Corneliusen) Yakey. Murlaine was raised in Benson where she graduated from high school. She received her Bachelor degree in education from the University of Minnesota. She taught school in many communities around the country before moving to St. James. On June 23, 1971, she was united in marriage to William R. Weiss in the Twin Cities and made their home in St. James where she was a secretary in her husband's law practice. She retired following William's death in 1995. She moved to Owatonna in January 2007. Murlaine loved her family, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and ready. Murlaine loved spending time with her friends at the Hometown where she rolled dice and caught up on town news. Murlaine Weiss, age 82, of Owatonna formerly of St. James, died on Sunday, January 20, 2008 at the Infinia Nursing Home in Owatonna. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a brother Daniel Yakey. She is survived by her daughters Bethany Wolters of Belton, MO, Monique (David) Brunner of Owatonna, grandchildren Amanda Wolters of St. James, Joshua Brunner of Owatonna, Jay Brunner of Owatonna, Aaron Brunner of Owatonna, great-granddaughter Jayden Marie Brunner of Owatonna and a sister Avonne (J.B.) Cody of Reno, NV.
