Milton Thompson

Milton Thompson age 92, of Saint James, MN died on November 3, 2021, at Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato, MN. Visitation will be on Saturday, November 13, 2021 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Sturm Funeral Home, St. James. Memorial Service will be held at the Sturm Funeral Home, St. James Chapel, on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 12:00 pm. The clergy will be Pastor Lester Lear. Interment will be at the Mt. Hope Cemetery, St. James in St. James, MN. Theodore (Milton Thompson) was born on the Christiansen Farm 5 miles east of St. James on January 22, 1929, the son of Theodore and Freda Thompson. One year later the family moved to their own farm site 5 miles east of St. James where Milton spent most of his life. On June 18,1950 he was united in marriage to Beverly Jean Beck. They were married for 68 years until her passing in 2018. For 50 years he was an active member of the Pentecostal Church in St. James, 35 years of which he served as treasurer. Milton farmed the family site until he was 80 years old, but also worked in the 60's and 70's as a painter to provide for his family. He loved spending time with family, collecting toy tractors and meeting friends with his wife almost every day at McDonald's in St. James. Milton is survived by his children Ronotta (Richard) Lopko of Mankato, Robert (Helene) Thompson of Champlin, Sandy (Skip) Gleb of Mankato, Roger (Theresa) Thompson of Rosemount, grandchildren Rick, Rodney, Mike, Jay, 13 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grand children.
