WILLIAMS, Mildred Elizabeth (90) passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 30, 2008 at home in Redwood City, CA. She was born on February 2, 1918 in Mountain Lake, MN to Jacob and Kathryn (Janzen) Dickman. After graduating high school, Mildred moved from her Mennonite community in Mountain Lake, MN to Los Angeles, CA to attend business school. In 1944, she married Neal Janzen while he was stationed in Santa Barbara, CA. Their son Steven Neal was born in 1948 in Long Beach, CA. She was married to her second husband Bert Williams in 1961. Mildred was preceded in death by her loving parents, brother John "Spike" Dickman, sister Gladys Piper, half-siblings Arthur, Evangeline and Edward Dickman, first husband Neal Janzen and second husband Bert Williams. Mildred was known for her terrific sense of humor, warm heart, appreciation of nature (dogs and hummingbirds in particular) and her unconditional love for her family. She loved to make people laugh. Mildred was a very special person and will be deeply missed by all she touched through her quick wit, kind words, generosity, and that mischievous sparkle in her eyes. God bless her. Mildred is survived by her son Steven Neal, his wife, Margene; grandchildren Sara Elizabeth and Jacob Steven Janzen; sister-in-law Charlotte Dickson of San Jose, CA; cousins William Bim and Adina Ev Janssen of Mountain Lake; niece and nephew Marilynn (Dickman) and Richard Eilers family of Mason City, IA; and by many grand nieces, grand nephews and relatives.
