Mildred Almira Potter was born December 2, 1913 in Sleepy Eye, the daughter of William and Anna (Blank) Kissner. She attended country school and graduated from Sleepy Eye Public School. Mildred married Harold Potter on May 26, 1939 in Sleepy Eye, MN. The couple farmed in the Sleepy Eye area most of their lives. They moved to Sleepy Eye in 1975 and in the fall of 1992 they moved into the Country Side Apartments. In April of 2000 Mildred became a resident at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield. She was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Sleepy Eye, a Sunday School teacher, participated in Bible Study, and volunteered at church in many areas. Mildred enjoyed baking, cooking, flowers, gardening, her grandchildren, and visiting. Mildred died on Sunday, July 31, 2005 at the age of 91 at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield, MN. She is survived by her children - Richard Potter of Minneapolis, MN, Larry and wife Ruth Potter of Springfield, Dale and wife Rosie Potter of Springfield, and Diane and husband Fred Hillger of Asheboro, NC; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; a sister - Lois Bridges of East Wenatchee, WA; sisters-in-law - Grace Kissner of Eden Prairie, Elsie Potter of Atwater, and Florence Potter of Paynesville; and brothers-in-law - Don Potter of New Ulm and Leo Moeller of Winthrop. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Harold in 1995; a son - James in 1972; a grandson - Craig in 2005; a brother - Roger Kissner and a sister - Dorothy Lueben.
