Mildred Rose Jenzen was born September 19, 1922, in Redfield, SD, the daughter of Edwin and Emma (Meinert) Harmening. She moved to rural Springfield with her parents in 1935 and attended country school and Sleepy Eye Public School. Mildred worked as a Nurse's Aide at the Tessien Hospital prior to her marriage to Edward E. Jenzen on November 4, 1945. She then worked as an Avon Representative before joining her husband's sanitation service as a bookkeeper. Mildred was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Rebekah Circle. She enjoyed spending time at the lake near Spicer, crocheting, playing Uno and Slapjack with her grandkids, coffee and visiting with friends, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Mildred Jenzen died Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at the Mapleton Community Home at the age of 87 years. She is survived by son Mark and wife Linda Jenzen of Minnesota Lake; grandchildren- Ethan and wife Leah Jenzen of Litchfield, Robyn Jenzen of Richfield, and Erynn Jenzen of Minnesota Lake; sister Elaine Sather of Sauk Rapids; sisters-in-law- Marilyn Wallace, of Mason City, IA, Lorraine Crannage of St. Louis, MO, Nora Jenzen of Nipomo, CA, Joyce Jenzen of Renton, WA, and Linda Jenzen of Janesville; brother-in-law Jack Fedell of Crystal Lake, IL; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Edward in 1997; brothers-in-law- Wayne and wife Marie Jenzen, Vernell Jenzen, Robert Jenzen, James Jenzen, Donald Crannage, Ralph Wallace, and Elmer Sather; and sister-in-law Arlene Fedell.
