Millie was born to Jacob and Marie (Finstad) Rossbach on February 10, 1922 in Albin Township in Brown Co.She was baptized,confirmed and married at Albion Lutheran Church. She attended a country school near her home until the 8th grade and furthered her education at the University of Minnesota Ag School in St. Paul where she met her future husband Obert Jacobson. Obert and Millie farmed near Madelia for over 45 years until they moved to Madelia in 1976. Millie has resided at Luther Memorial Home for the past 5 years. After moving off the farm, Millie became interested in rosemaling. She gained her artistic ability through studies at Decorah, Iowa and Oslo, Norway. Obert built the trunks and many of the wood pieces that Millie painted. During her 33 years of rosemaling, Millie painted over 100 trunks which are treasured by friends and family. Milred was involved in numerous volunteer activities in her community and church.She was the church organist for 15 years at LaSalle Lutheran Church and taught Sunday School. She was a member of the Mission Quilt and the Sorosis Book Club, President of the Luther Memorial Home Auxiliary and she served on the Southwest Minnesota Synodical Board. In 2004 she was named Outstanding Senior Citizen for Watonwan County for her lifelong giving to others. Mom was a woman of very strong faith in Jesus Christ. She lived a life of service to others -as Jesus says Love one another as I have loved you. Millie's family would like to thank the staff at Luther Memorial Home for their wonderful and loving care of Mom. Mildred is survived by four sons and a son and daughter they raised as their own. David (Sheryl), St. Francis, Robert (Jerilyn), Eau Claire, Roger (Peggy), Madelia, Everett (Kathy), Fergus Falls, Gordon Mosenden, Lewisville and Marsha Renier, Madison. Fifteen grandchildren and fifteen great- grandchildren. She is further survived by her brother Harold Rossbach, and sisters Jeane Haalboom and Eleanor Miller. She was preceded in death by her husband Obert, parents Marie and Jacob Rossbach, sisters Lydia Peterson, Carol Mosenden and Mabel Hall.
