Mildred Bertrand

Mildred Marie Bertrand was born August 8, 1915 to George Isabelle (Radamacher) Schaupp in Winona, MN. She moved from Rice Lake, WI to Sleepy Eye in 1933 with her parents. She worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Kiefer until she and Clem married in June of 1940. They farmed 5 miles northwest of Sleepy Eye where they raised eight children. Mildred worked in the Farm Bureau Insurance office from 1964 until she retired in 1980. She enjoyed playing cards, crocheting and traveling with family and friends. She is survived by her children: Patty (Jerry) Steeber of Maple Grove, MN, Dave (Linda) of Bloomington, MN, Jerry (Emilie) of Sleepy Eye, Carol Wexler of San Pablo, CA, Jim (Linda) of New Ulm, Kathy (Dave) Suker of Akeley, MN, Mark (Gail) of Akeley, MN, 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Clement in 1982, daughter, Joan Marie in 1969, son-in-law, Bruce Wexler in 2012 and great-granddaughter, Amanda Bertrand.
