Mildred Theresa Bellig was born October 10, 1921, in Wabasso, MN to Wenzel and Margaret (Rothmeier) Johannek. She attended country school District #75, St. Anne's Catholic School, and graduated from Wabasso High School in 1940. The couple moved to Lamberton after Bud's return from the war. She was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, and the American Legion Auxiliary. Millie was a member of the Lamberton Reading Club for over 60 years, a Girl Scout leader, volunteered at Valley View Manor, and served on the Library Board. She enjoyed photography, bridge, puzzles, reading and writing. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family at Lake Florida near Spicer. Mildred Theresa Bellig died Saturday, October 27, 2018, at Koronis Manor in Paynesville at the age of 97.
