Mildred Beermann

Mildred Elsa Beermann was born March 18, 1915 in Willow Lake Township, the daughter of Carl and Minnie (Holman) Kruse. She was the oldest of the children and grew up on the family farm in Redwood County. She married Melvin Beermann in 1938 and the couple continued to farm. She moved to Springfield in 1948 where she worked as a cook in a restaurant until 1952. In 1952 Mildred married Clarence Beermann and returned to farming near Lamberton. She retired to the Douglas Apartments in 1993 and in 1999she moved into the Valley View Apartments. Since 1973, Mildred has been wintering with her daughter in Florida and the past 3 winters in Arizona. She was active in her church through out her life. She enjoyed gardening, especially loved to grow flowers, crocheting, knitting, reading, and visting with her many friends and relatives. She was an excellent cook and baker who made cookies the last week of her life. Her kindness will be missed by many. Mildred died on Saturday, January 15, 2005 at the Valley View Manor Care Center in Lamberton at the age of 89 years. She is survived by her children - Eldonna Steffen and her husband Joseph Stefanisko of Yuma, AZ, Dennis and wife Mary Beermann of Bella Vista, AZ, Donald and wife Carol Beermann of Lamberton, and Garry and wife Debra Beermann of Lamberton; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law - Blanche Kruse of Wabasso, MN; and a family friend of 49 years - Betty Steffen of Tallahassee, FL. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband - Clarence in 1993; and a grandchild.
