Milda K. Dey was born on October 21, 1914 in Sleepy Eye, MN, the daughter of Albert Caroline (Bender) Kelm. She graduated from Sleepy Eye High School in 1931 and Normal Training in 1932. Milda married Garfield Dey on September 21, 1939 at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye. The couple made their home in Sleepy Eye where Milda taught school for a few years. They lived in Arlington, WI for several years before returning to Sleepy Eye in 1976 when Garfield retired from Del Monte. Milda was a very active member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran especially the Ladies Aid. She was also a member of the Sleepy Eye Golf Club, Modern Study Club and the Arlington, WI Curling Club. Milda was an avid card player and MN Twins fan. Milda is survived by her children, Suzanne (John) Durkee of Wausau, WI, Janet Dey of De Forest, WI, Thomas Dey of Arlington, WI, three grandchildren, Melinda, Michael and Mitchell, four great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Garfield on January 14, 1995, sisters, Louise Renneke and Ruth Beers, brother, Edwin Kelm and a granddaughter.
