Michelle Schroeder age 61, of Mountain Lake, Minnesota passed away on October 19, 2022, at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Visitation will be on Friday, October 28, 2022, from 4 pm to 6 pm at the Sturm Funeral Home in Mountain Lake and will continue on Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 10 am until 11 am at the Cornerstone Church in Mountain Lake, MN .

Service will be held at the Cornerstone Church in Mountain Lake, on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 11 am.

The clergy will be Pastor Herms Banico. Interment will be at the Cornerstone Cemetery in Mountain Lake.

Michelle Diane Schroeder was born on December 16, 1960, to John and Edna Louise (Van Skike) Blair in Colorado Springs, CO. She graduated from Widefield High School in 1978.

On April 25, 1981, she married Vernon Schroeder. Michelle was a homemaker and homeschooled her six children while they lived in Spring Lake Park, MN. In 2012, Michelle and Vern moved to Butterfield, MN where they ran a small Assisted Living Home.

In 2017, they moved to Mountain Lake, MN. Michelle began working at Care and Share in Mountain Lake and especially enjoyed interacting with people in the coffee shop. Michelle was very involved in Cornerstone Church, helping in many areas including the children’s and youth ministries.

Michelle enjoyed cooking, gardening, a variety of different crafts, puzzles, and playing board games. She loved animals, especially the cats she has owned throughout the years. She was very organized and enjoyed using this gift to help others in many ways.

She is survived by her husband, Vern; children: Stephanie (Jason) Hestbeck, Paul, Andrew, Steven, Justina, and Emily. Grandchildren: Jaden, Hunter, and Connor Hestbeck. Siblings: Christine Hernandez, Russ (Becky) Blair, Louise (Tim) Riley, Phyllis Jimenez, Jerri Shields, Robert Shields, and Deborah Shields.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather, and her sister Georgianna.
