Michael Paul Wooten, age 43, of Saint James, died on September 4, 2024, doing what he loved to do most, riding his motorcycle.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Sturm Funeral Home in Saint James and will continue on Thursday from 9:30 am until 10:30 am at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be held at Saint James Catholic Church in Saint James on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Mike was born to Nick and Marge (Spidahl) Wooten on January 23, 1981, in Madelia, Minnesota. He was baptized at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Madelia. He graduated from Saint James High School in 1999. Following high school, Mike enlisted in the US Army and served in Operation Iraqi Freedom, as a diesel mechanic. He was honorably discharged in 2003 as an Army Specialist.
In high school, Mike was an excellent wrestler, making it to state with the Saint James 1998 wrestling team. He was an avid dart player and enjoyed snowmobiling, traveling, blaring his music, and especially loved riding his motorcycle, going on several motorcycle runs, most recently, traveling with his dad to Arlington National Cemetery. Mike had a big heart. He was always helping others with their vehicles, home projects, or just lending an ear or shoulder. Most importantly, Mike loved his children. Mike enjoyed spending time with his boys, Kaine and Jacob and adored his daughter, Trinity.
Mike is survived by his wife, Lindsey; children, Kaine, Jacob, and Trinity; parents, Nick, Sr. and Marge; brother, Nick, Jr.; niece, Sonryth (Jordan) Rutherford; great niece, Lainey; and parents-in-law, Tracy (Gary) Anderson and Brad (Clover) Tiedeken; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mike was preceded in death by his son, Abel; several cousins; uncle, Bryan; and grandparents, Bud and Julie Spidahl, Ed Wooten and Thelma Wooten.
