Lamberton, MN

Michael James Senst was born on January 16, 1957, to James and Bernadine (Haseleu) Senst. He passed away peacefully on September 9, 2026.

Visitation will be on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Sturm Funeral Home in Lamberton, MN.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm with a service at 2:00 pm at the Lamberton American Legion in Lamberton, MN.

A private burial will be held with his family.

Mike was a farmer at heart. He spent more than 50 years as a dairy farmer, dedicating much of his life to caring for his cattle and working the land. Farming was more than a job to Mike-it was a way of life and an important part of who he was. Even at the time of his passing, he was still a farmer, continuing the work and lifestyle he loved for so many decades.

Mike was married to Janet McCloud, and together they had four amazing children: Ryan, Jamie, Paul, and Luke. After their divorce, he later married Sandy Stafford-Senst and became a proud stepfather to Amber, Justin, and Nick. Family was an important part of Mike's life, and he took pride in watching his children, stepchildren, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter grow.

And although he probably wouldn't admit it, Michael did enjoy spending time at the lake with Lovie. When he wasn't busy farming, you could often find him taking his grandchildren on Ranger rides or out on the pontoon, enjoying time on the water and making memories with family and friends, or playing solitaire in the shop. You knew if he really liked you, he wouldn't call you your name but instead call you by one of his nicknames for you.

Mike was also actively involved with the Sons of the American Legion in Lamberton, serving as commander for many decades, where he enjoyed being part of the organization and community.

Michael will be remembered for his love of family, his dedication to farming, his strong work ethic, and his ability to enjoy the simple things in life-from working the farm to relaxing on the pontoon at the lake.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy Stafford-Senst; his children, Ryan (Theresa) Senst, Jamie Senst, Paul (Jessie Porter) Senst, and Luke (Chris White) Senst; his stepchildren, Amber (Joel) Demuth, Justin (Jenna) Stafford, and Nick (Malory Nosbusch) Stafford; his mother, Bernie (Haseleu) Senst; and his siblings, Susan (Gary) VanWatermeulen, Brad (Mary) Senst, David (Darcy) Senst, and Julie Senst. He is also survived by his 14 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, many nieces and nephews, extended family, and numerous friends who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Senst.

Michael's memory will live on through his family, the farm he dedicated his life to, the lake and pontoon where he found time to relax, his involvement in his community, and all those who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
