Michael Matter

Michael John Matter was born on February 8, 1951 in Springfield the son of Ervin and Martha (Pfarr) Matter. Michael was a member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church and attended St. Raphael's Catholic School in Springfield. Michael worked at Ochs Brick yard, lived on a farm north of Sanborn where he raised pigs, and enjoyed working with scrap metal. He collected antique toy tractors and enjoyed playing cards and horseshoes. Michael died on Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at the Wooddale Nursing Home in Redwood Falls, MN at the age of 55 years. He is survived by his son - Christopher Matter of Minneapolis; brothers - Erwin Tony and wife Pat of St. James, Ronald and wife Karen of New Ulm, Joseph and wife Laurie of New Ulm, Lawrence of New Ulm, Duane and wife Kay of Springfield, and David of Lamberton; sisters - Marcella and husband Ken Solberg of New Ulm, Donna and husband LaMonte Henrichs of Sleepy Eye, Gloria and husband Richard Utz of Comfrey, Audrey and husband Lon Evers of New Ulm, Elaine Fromm of Comfrey, Marleen and husband Keith Numachuck of Iowa, Marion and husband Jim Lewis of Springfield, and Sharyn and husband Art Sullivan of Springfield; aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother - Allen; a sister - Jean Bedner, nephew - Brian Henrichs; 2 nieces in infancy; and a brother-in-law - David Wischstadt.
