Michael Ecker

Michael was born on December 4, 1950 in St. Paul, MN the son of Richard E. and Mercedes E. (Liebman) Ecker. He lived in West St. Paul until he graduated from the College of St. Thomas. Michael then attended Creighton Medical School in Omaha, NE. He completed his Family Practice Residency at Creighton Medical Center. Michael married Charlene M. Piskac on July 14, 1979 in Omaha, NE. He joined the Sleepy Eye Medical Clinic in July 1980, where he has been a Family Practice Physician until his death. He has been a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye and the Church of St. Mary in New Ulm. He enjoyed his two basset hounds, gardening, trains and old cars. He also enjoyed his travels to Mexico, the Disney Parks and visits with his daughters and their families. He is survived by his wife, Charlene Ecker of Sleepy Eye, daughters; Katherine (Eric) Myers of Albuquerque, NM, Carolyn (Curt) Kemmerer of Maquoketa, IA, Mary (Robert) Meyers of Miami, FL, Christine Ecker of Lauderdale, MN, mother, Mercedes Ecker of West St. Paul, granddaughter, Alexandria Myers, brother, Richard M. Ecker of West St. Paul, MN, sister, Carol (David) Bealke of Stillwater, MN, 2 nieces, 1 nephew and brother-in-law, Emil Paskac. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Ecker and sisters-in-law, Mary Ecker and Carol Paskac.
