Melrose Lubitz, the daughter of Fred and Alma (Abraham) Lubitz was born on March 26, 1916, at Gibbon, MN. She received her education at a country school near her home and the Odin Public School On December 12, 1935, Melrose was united in marriage to Willard Bill Kliewer at her parents parents' home at Odin, MN. Following their marriage they made their home in Mountain Lake where she worked as a cook at their Cafe and at the Bethel Hospital. Bill died on October 15, 1988. Melrose was an activemember of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mountain Lake, participating in quilting and LWML. She enjoyed cooking and sewing, volunteering to help others and was a member of the American Legion Auxillary. Melrose Kliewer died on Monday evening, November 1, 2005, at the Good Samaritan Village in Mountain Lake. Melrose is survived by two sons, James Kliewer and his friend Margaret Ringham of Mountain Lake, MN, and Douglas and his wife Carolyn Kliewer of Duluth, MN; four grandchildren, Curtis, Kimberly, Melanie and Kara; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Willard Bill Kliewer; a granddaughter, Kalli; a sister, Yvonne Timmerman; and a brother, LaVerne Lubitz.
