Maynard 'Butch' Nelson

Maynard Butch Nelson was born on October 23, 1932 in Madelia, MN, the son of Carl and Palma (Stordahl) Nelson. He graduated from the Madelia High School and was a self employed carpenter. Over the years, Butch enjoyed working with Leverson Furniture, Madelia Theater, Madelia Golf Course, and the Madelia Municipal Liquor Store. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and enjoyed time outdoors, golfing, and fishing. Butch died on Thursday, November 21, 2013, at Luther Memorial Home in Madelia at the age of 81 years. He is survived by his beloved Sue Klatt of Madelia; her children - Jim (Karen) Klatt of Silver Lake, MN and their children - Jennessa Kallyssa, Paul Klatt of Buffalo, MN and his children - Cole Carly, Emily (Kurt) Zehnder of Caledonia, MN and their children - Cody, Madison, Jadah, Payton; his children - Bob (Merily) of Hatfield, PA, Bruce (Cory) of Hatfield, PA, Craig (Tina) of Red Lion, PA, and Brian of Towmencin, PA; grandchildren - Sara, Rebeka (Dustin) McCan, Joshua, Elizabeth, Debbie (Dan) Weintraub, Amanada (Tim) Moyer, Alisha, and Tim (Amanda) Nelson; great grandchildren - Macee and Brea McCan, Derek Weintraub, Emitt Moyer, and Christopher, Ethan and Alivia Nelson; siblings - Irma Wendland, of Madelia, Helen (Clayton) Schwanke of Mankato, Grace (Stanley) Spence of Vernon Center, and Norma (Earl) Rydholm of Brooklyn Center; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother - Warren Nelson.
