Mayme Fischer

June 16, 1907 — October 7, 2004

Mayme was born on June 16, 1907 in Burnstown Township, MN, the daughter of Andrew Anna (Colburn) Anderson. She graduated from Springfield High School and then attended Mankato Commercial College. Mayme married Peter Fischer on February 16, 1943 in Portland, Oregon. She worked as a bookkeeper at Altermatt Merchantile in Springfield and later her and Peter owned the Ben Franklin Store. Mayme was a Sunday school teacher, a life time member of St. John's Lutheran Church, the church choir, Luther League, LeahCircle, Birthday Card Club, Hospital Auxiliary and St. John's Home Auxiliary. She loved bookkeeping, enjoyed her family and playing cards. Mayme died on Thursday, October 7, 2004 at the New Ulm Hospital at the age of 97 years. She is survived by her brother, Rudy Anderson of Morgan, sister, Evelyn Wolter and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Peter Fischer, brothers, Tom, Gust, John, Emil, sisters, Clara Anderson, Helen Anderson, Myrtle Swenson, Lena in infancy.
