Maxine Gertrude Frederickson

In Loving Memory of Maxine Gertrude Frederickson Maxine Gertrude Frederickson of Madelia, MN died on January 15, 2021 at Hillcrest Rehabilitation Center in Mankato, MN. Maxine had just celebrated her 83rd birthday. Maxine was born in Madelia, MN on January 11, 1938 to George and Gertrude (Schlack) Schwanke. Maxine grew up in Madelia where she attended Madelia High School and graduated in 1956. Later that year Maxine was united in marriage to Alden Frederickson and the couple would enjoy 64 wonderful years together until Alden's passing in July 2020. Maxine was employed at Luther Memorial Home (now Living Meadows) in Madelia for more that 30 years. Maxine found a profound sense of fulfillment during her time at LMH/Living Meadows and her sincere interest in the well-being of the residents she served during her tenure was obvious to all. Maxine was also a proud member of Salem Lutheran Church in Madelia; her and Alden being among the earliest members of the congregation and Maxine could always be counted on when there was an auxiliary activity at Salem for her to take part in. Above all else, Maxine was a dedicated wife and companion to Alden and an extremely proud and dedicated mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Simply put, Maxine placed her family above all else and she perhaps found the greatest joy of her life spending time with her family and supporting them in all of their activities and endeavors. Her family truly was her life. Maxine is survived by daughter, Kathryn Anderson and her husband David Anderson of New Ulm; son, Michael Frederickson and his wife Shelly (Nordstrom) Frederickson of Minnetonka; as well as, grandchildren Holly Llavona, Jessica Rethwill, Andrew Anderson, Eric Frederickson, Lauren Frederickson, and six great grandchildren. Maxine was preceded in death by her husband Alden in July of 2020; her parents Gertrude and George Schwanke; brothers Gordon and Clarence Schwanke and grandson Jesse Anderson. Mother……Not a day or minute or even an hour will go by that we won't think of you and smile. You enriched our lives while you were here; now we must learn to live without you near. Your memory will not fade and not a day will go by where we won't wish you could have stayed.
