Mavis M Anderson

Mavis Madonna Anderson, age 87, of Comfrey, died Monday, June 29, 2015 in Minneapolis. Mavis was born March 8, 1928 in Mountain Lake, Minnesota to Walter and Della (Stark) Johnson. She lived and farmed in Bashaw Township most of her life. Mavis was confirmed in the Bethesda Moravian Church in 1941. She graduated from Comfrey High School in 1946. On January 1, 1947 Mavis Married Eldon "Eldy" Anderson at Faith Lutheran Church in Comfrey. Mavis and Elden moved into Comfrey in 1981, when they retired from farming. Mavis was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church. She was an excellent homemaker and enjoyed gardening, decorating, reading, remodeling and baking. Mavis enjoyed playing cards, Bridge and 500, and being part of several card groups over the years. Surviving Mavis are her daughter- Kristine and husband Dan Smith of Arden Hills and their two daughters- Nicole and Kate; daughter-in-law Cherry Anderson of Cottage Grove and her four children- Jason, Jeremy, Jenny, Jim and seven great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law Roger and Vonnie Anderson, Margaret Anderson and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mavis is preceded in death by her parents; husband Elden (June 1997); son Randal Anderson (2007); brothers and sister-in-law Yvonne and Alfred Zwaschka and Vernon Anderson.
