Mary Wiese

Mary Esther Wiese, 80, of Comfrey, died April 18, 2026, at her home.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 22, 2026, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at the Sturm Funeral Home in Comfrey. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 10:00am until 11:00am at New Hope Lutheran Church in Comfrey. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 11:00am at New Hope Lutheran Church in Comfrey. Interment will take place at the Springfield City Cemetery. Mary was born on December 25, 1945, to George and Esther (Siegmann) Ebnet in Springfield. She graduated from Wabasso Public High School. After graduation, she attended higher education in Mankato, earning an associate's degree in payroll. She worked for a year in Marshall, Minnesota. On April 25, 1965, she married Ken Wiese at Faith Lutheran Church in Comfrey. They were married one week short of 61 years.

Mary farmed alongside Kenny and raised four children. She was involved with the church choir, loved to bake, cook and read as well as cake decorating and candy making. In her early years, she and Kenny enjoyed square dancing and old-time music.

Mary is survived by her husband, Ken; children, Susan Wiese of Willmar, Donna (Mark) Gosson of Benson, and Paula (Mike Pidde) Wiese of Comfrey; grandchildren, Brianna (Kelsi O'Leary) Treml of Saint Paul, Mitchell (Meghan) Treml of Renville, Brandon Gosson of Dawson, and Anna Gosson of Wheaton; and brothers, Gene (Terese) Ebnet of New Ulm, Kenny (Deb) Ebnet of Wabasso, and Mike Ebnet of New Ulm.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; son, Robert Wiese; brother, Jerry Ebnet; brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Joyce Wiese, Orvis and Rita Sell, and Betty Jane Wiese; nephew, Doug Wiese; and niece, Denise Motisi.
