Mary Jane Tiedeken

Mary Jane Tiedeken age 90, of Madelia, MN died on June 14, 2025 in her home surrounded by family.

Visitation will be on Friday, June 20, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church-Madelia.

Service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church-Madelia, on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior.

The clergy will be Rev. Janet Adams. Interment will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Madelia at a later date.

Arrangements are with Sturm Funeral Home in Madelia. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com.

Mary Jane Tiedeken was born on August 12, 1934 to Lois and James Thompson. Mary grew up and graduated from Good Thunder School. She married Melvin Tiedeken and lived in Madelia her whole life. She worked at the Madelia School in the kitchen as a cook for 37 years. She was involved in many organizations. She was in the Rebekah Lodge, Church Auxiliary, Garden Club, Tuesday coffee bowling league, Red Hat Society, American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries to name just a few. Family reunions in the park every year were important to Mary. She looked forward to seeing everyone and enjoying the good food and conversations. She also loved to do needle work and share her knowledge with her great-grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin; mother, Lois; sister, Mabel; brother, Walter and granddaughter, Dara. Mary is survived by her sister, Carol (Dean); children, Deb (Trevor) Christensen, Jeff, Dale (Hope), Gary (Kim), and Greg; 6 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
