Mary Genevieve Nootenboom

Mary Genevieve (Sandborg) Nootenboom was born on February 25, 1925 to Gustav and Jenny (Johnson) Sandborg in Madelia, MN. Mary grew up in the Madelia area. After 2 previous marriages which blessed her with children Joan, Gary, Brenda and Jim, she married Kenneth Nootenboom on July 31, 1971. Mary worked for several years at Tony Downs Foods and also as a housekeeper for several homes in the area. Mary was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Madelia and was a volunteer at Living Meadows at Luther, then Luther Memorial Home. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo and spending time with her family and friends. Mary Genevieve Nootenboom age 94, of Madelia, MN died on May 12, 2019, at Living Meadows at Luther, Madelia. Mary is survived by her children, Joan Schlomann of Butterfield, MN, Gary Freeman of New Ulm, Brenda (Roger) Kelly of Madelia, James Larson of St. James, MN; 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; 15 siblings; husband, Kenneth Nootenboom; grandson, Brian Schlomann; daughters-in-law, Doranne Larson, Linda Freeman, and son-in-law, Dennis Schlomann.
